Scientology has always recruited and nurtured celebrities, using their fame and influence to legitimize the organization and attract new people.
But fame doesn't excuse complicity. The people on this page have had access to the same stories the rest of us have heard about abuse, exploitation and families being torn apart, and a front seat view to much of it, while continuing to publicly support or promote Scientology.
That's why they're on the Walk of Shame.
My boyfriend and I started the Scientology Walk of Shame as a real-world project on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
We bring life-size cardboard cutouts of Scientology celebrities, complete with QR codes linking to videos explaining why they're here, and set up outside Scientology's Hollywood recruitment center where I used to live when I was in Scientology.
I answer people's questions about Scientology, talk to the media, and give people a chance to learn what's behind the celebrity image Scientology has spent decades promoting.
